Jim and I sometimes get the job of 'tasting' the food at minority owned restaurants before the CalCoDems recommend them. August is our third month to highlight a minority owned, small business - and we are highlighting the new JSU campus eatery, Mason’s BBQ, located at 208 Mountain St NW, Jacksonville, AL.
Gary Mason's food was already known and loved by many who routinely ate at his food truck. The grand opening of his 'sit down' restaurant was Saturday, Feb. 18, at 11:00 am. Their menu features ribs, pulled pork, catfish, chicken (legs, tenders and wings), baked potatoes, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, fries, collard greens, baked beans, cole slaw, cornbread, nachos, hot mess pie, spaghetti pie, banana pudding, kids meals and more.
