Do you know who passed the least legislation of any congress since the Civil War?

Jim Wakefield, Vice Chair Senior Affairs,
Calhoun County Executive Committee
About 18 months ago I was whining about not having any way to express my opinion or make an effort to contribute to our point of view. Jim Williams said I could call my AL senators and my district congressional representative Mike Rogers. At that time, I was too timid to make those calls. How would I find my congressmen? How long should I talk? What should I say? After I got through coming up with everything I couldn't do - I decided to try it.
Mike Rogers' office( 202.225.3261) answers the phone almost every day. Britt's office (202.224.5744) answers about half the time. Unsurprisingly Coach's office (202.224.4124) rarely answers the phone. Leave a message. The first couple of weeks I called Tuberville's Mobile office. A young staffer said I should be calling the Washington office and gave me the number. I settled on making the calls about 1 minute each. That would take about 5 minutes 5 days a week. That seemed to move me on to subjects. If you are going to try calling just look at the White House and congress every day. Your news feed has new subjects every 10 minutes. Maybe you could ask about the Epstein files, the grifting Trump family, starting a war with Iran, ICE's actions, attacks on our voting system, fighting back against Trump's blathering about us being communists. Kash Patel is like shooting fish in a barrel. How's that for a start? Sometimes I have enough subjects that I write up ideas for several days in advance. I make up points to emphasize on notebook paper and only have 4 or 5 lines written out. Read it back to yourself and revise as needed.
Today I addressed the issue of Speaker Mike Johnson having passed the least legislation of any congress since the Civil War. There are days when I finish the calls and know I was lousy. But there are days when I think I sounded like I knew what I was talking about. Who knows how much of what I've said gets to the representative? I don't, but I know I have at least tried.
Today I am writing up notes on page 69. I have called Mike Rogers office and both senators a total of just over 800 times. It sounds like a big number. It's not, it's just consistency. I blame Jim Williams forgetting me into this. I hope you will do something and I'll gladly take the blame.
