Attorney Freddy Rubio speaks on May 15th

REMINDER: Please join Calhoun County Democrats in welcoming Birmingham attorney Freddy Rubio to our May 15th meeting.

"Rubio is the founder of Rubio Law Firm, established with a mission to serve Alabama’s Hispanic community.

His practice focuses on civil litigation and trial work, including auto accidents, wrongful death, and business disputes. He also handles criminal defense matters and is currently representing a client in a capital murder case. Freddy is licensed to practice law in both Alabama and Georgia.

In addition to his legal practice, Freddy has taught trial advocacy as an adjunct professor at Cumberland School of Law. He previously served as legal counsel to the Birmingham City Council and the City of Tarrant. He is frequently invited to speak to fellow attorneys on trial techniques and litigation strategies.

Freddy is a sustaining member of the Alabama Association for Justice and currently serves as a Bar Commissioner with the Alabama State Bar. He also sits on the Board of Directors for the Alabama Wildlife Center and Voices for Children of Alabama. His long-standing commitment to public service includes leadership roles on numerous nonprofit and civic boards, including a decade of service on the National Board of the ACLU."

CalCoDems are part of a group of reasonable individuals who are worried about the current administration's strategies and policies, especially concerning the unjust detention and deportation of innocent people. Individuals have been targeted and detained while simply walking down the street or attending their regular appointments to verify their residence and confirm they pose no security risk.

The meeting is Thursday, May 15th at 6 pm at the Calhoun County Democrat HQ, 812 Noble Street, Anniston, AL. We will eat dinner at 6 pm, followed by our speaker. If you can, please bring a dish for the 'pitch in' dinner. However, if it's not convenient, you are welcome to join us anyway. There always seems to be just the right amount of food.
