UPCOMING EVENTS!

Thursday, August 21, 6 pm, CalCoDem Meeting

CalCoDem meeting featuring Democratic candidate for Alabama Supreme Court, AshLeigh Dunham. Join us at 6 pm, 812 Noble Street, Anniston, AL! A pitch-in pot-luck dinner will be served, followed by AshLeigh's remarks. Bring a dish to share with others if it's convenient, but please COME and BRING a friend. It's past time Alabama had our own 'equal and fair' Lady Justice'.

Those of us who weren't aware just how critical our state Supreme Court office holders are - have learned FAST! Republican justices across the country are doing Trump's bidding, and nothing good has come of it. Add to that, 'voter empathy' which allows the consequences of political absenteeism - leading to dictatorship by the minority. Learn more about AshLeigh Dunham at https://www.ashleighforalabama.com/about and

Saturday, September 6th, 12-3 pm, 'Release the Epstein Files' Protest

Protest/rally - Trump: Release the Epstein Files and Expose the Guilty! This is NOT an 'us vs them' subject. This is about the abuse of young women at the hands of powerful adults who are child molesters - pedophiles. We want them ALL identified and prosecuted. Also, take a minute to check your voter registration status - be sure you haven't been removed from the voter list and that all your information is correct. There will be someone there who can help you register as well! Hotdogs, chips and soft drinks will be available. LASTLY, please bring canned goods to be shared with a local charitable organization involved in feeding the less fortunate. This event is co-sponsored by the Calhoun County Democratic Committee and 50501 Calhoun County.

Thursday, September 18th, CalCoDem Meeting

SAVE THE DATE - WATCH FOR DETAILS COMING! :)

Thursday, October 16th, former Senator Doug Jones

ree

Senator Jones spoke to a packed house at Hubbard's Off Main in Oxford, AL (left) on June 19th. The event was sponsored by the Calhoun County Democrats. Jones was primarily interested in 'community dialogue for a civil, fact-based discussion across party lines.' It was a very successful event, and Jones told the crowd he would be willing to come back in the Fall and 'do it again.' There was, however, a caveat. Former Senator Jones said he wanted each of us to bring TWO PEOPLE with us. Not two died-in-the-wool 'Yellow Dog' Democrats. Instead, he wants to hear from 'undecideds,' 'fence sitters,' 'doubtful Democrats' and 'reluctant Republicans.' Jones wants ALL to come and offer their personal experience and concerns about how the current administration's actions have impacted their lives. The gathering aims to foster civil, fact-based discussion across party lines. Senator Jones will speak, then there will be a question-and-answer session! This town hall event will take place at the Anniston Meeting Center! Stay tuned for more details :) Meanwhile, be looking for YOUR TWO guests :)

November is just around the corner. Hang tight for event info :)

One thing we KNOW we will be doing is collecting non-perishable goods for the less fortunate, those who are vulnerable, marginalized, or in need. We always collect canned and packaged foods - and this year - we'd love people to donate 'cash' so we can buy fresh meat. When you donate - think in terms of an 'entire meal.' It could be a gift certificate, etc .

Always WATCH this space and our FB page :)
