DECEMBER - Shoebox for Christmas!

Bring your Christmas gifts to CalCoDem HQ at 812 Noble Street Nov 18; Dec 2, 9, and 16 from 10 am til 4 pm! Suggested gifts are gloves, socks, t-shirts, hats, underwear, toiletry items, snacks, toys for kids. Please label your gift for ‘male’, female’, ‘child’, size an age if it’s a child. Pop top cans are best for homeless food gifts. Most of us ‘saved money’ in 2020 because we didn’t go anywhere or do much. Use that ‘savings’ to help our less fortunate neighbors, many of whom are homeless 😊

UPDATE: This year, the Community Enabler was the recipient of the 4th Annual Calhoun County Democrat Christmas Shoebox donations. Community Enabler Developer, a non-profit organization that has served the Calhoun County area for more than four decades, is a local agency on the frontline of the economic crisis. They provide food, clothing and utility assistance to the burgeoning number of people seeking aid from the newly unemployed to the chronically poor. Maudine Holloway and her staff share the conviction that "folks need a hand-up not a handout." Holloway said these gifts ‘will be a blessing to so many.’ Boxes and bags stacked three high and two deep - were filled with snacks, shoes, socks, gloves, hats, scarves, toiletries, health and beauty aids, personal hygiene products, toys and much more. Last year the gifts were donated to the Jacksonville Christian Outreach Center. We look forward to ‘growing’ the Christmas Shoebox program and serving more people in 2021!
