The mission of the Calhoun County Democrats is to Improve our community, state, and nation by promoting, legislating, and executing policies that benefit all people. We do this by:
Expanding support for Democratic candidates and legislation consistent with these goals.
Selecting, recruiting, training, and electing Democrats to local, state, and national offices.
Electing Democrats to office is our goal - so we will not have our regular monthly meeting in March or April. Instead we ask you to attend the scheduled forums and support your Democratic candidates.
On April 7, there will be two forums. One, hosted by the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce and Anniston Star, will include our candidate for District 2, Mercy Pilkington. That will be at 5:30 pm at the Anniston City Meeting Center. The other, hosted by the Calhoun County Journal, will be for House District 40 candidates, including our own Pam Howard. That will be at 6:30 pm at the Oxford Performing Arts Center.
The 2nd State Senate forum will be Thursday, April 21st, at 5:30 pm at the Oxford Civic Center. Our own Danny McCullars will be participating with the three Republican candidates. Instead of having our monthly meeting - we plan to be there to support Danny!
On April 25, the Chamber will host a forum for US Senate candidates at 5:30 pm at the Oxford Civic Center.
On April 26, a second forum for House District 40 candidates, including Pam Howard at 5:30 pm at the Jacksonville Community Center.
